Diversity of thought is the greatest compliment to a board, any board. If decisions can be accomplished through consensus, after a wide variety of thoughts can be explored, one can be assured of solid conclusions. The current board of education is composed of individuals, well intentioned, but all of similar thought, as demonstrated by far too many 7-0 votes with no comments or debate. There is no one thinking "outside the box",no one launching any hard questions, no contrary views, no dissent-in short- no real thinking.
The new candidates running together, Little and Himmelberg, have credentials that are very desirable, and apparently have a different view on things.
Diversity of thought is a desirable thing, and this board sorely needs it.
